About Us:

Wheelchair Rugby League Australia (WRLA) is a national not-for-profit organisation overseeing wheelchair rugby league in Australia. Since its establishment in 2009, WRLA has been dedicated to creating an inclusive sporting environment, offering opportunities for individuals with and without disabilities to engage in a unique variation of Rugby League. Our recent presence at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup in London underscores our national and international commitment.

The Role:

The Board at WRLA is actively seeking applications for a skilled Director who aligns with the organisation’s objectives and can enhance the current Board’s capabilities to capitalise on growth opportunities presented by the recent exposure at the RLWC. This position is voluntary.

This Opportunity:

WRLA is searching for a leader with the skills and experience to significantly contribute to the fundraising and governance responsibilities of the Board, actively supporting gender balance. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in:

*Partnership and Sponsorship Management

*Sound commercial and strategic acumen

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Previous Board Director experience

2. Formal governance training such as AICD

Board Meetings are conducted monthly via Zoom, making interstate applications welcome.

Applications:

1. Interested candidates should submit a CV and cover letter by midnight on Friday, December 15, 2023.

3. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interviews after the closing date.

4. The final shortlisted candidates will meet with the Board in January 2024.

5. Successful applicants will be notified by February 1, 2024.
