MILESTONE IN WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE

New South Wales inaugural all women’s rugby league team is up and running.

Under the guidance of NSW Wheelchair Rugby League, an all ladies team made their debut in the tier two Wheelchair Rugby League competition last Sunday at Menai Indoor Sports Centre.

Proudly supported by the Penrith Panthers Rugby League Club, a mixture of mothers, wives, girlfriends and teenagers rolled onto the court and rolled the opposition, the Canberra Raiders wheelchair rugby league team 20-0.

Women play a huge role in the game of rugby league – Wheelchair Rugby League is proud of its ever-increasing commitment to grow the game and is delighted to play a part in supporting Women’s Rugby League and pathways.

Woman’s Rugby League is now the fastest growing sector of Rugby League with over 180,000 girls and Women playing Rugby League across Australia.
