Leagues Clubs Australia, the organisation representing, informing and supporting over one hundred Member Clubs across New South Wales and Queensland, has signed as a sponsor of the Skyring Wheelaroos, strengthening the team’s impending Rugby League World Cup campaign.
Don Hammond, CEO of Leagues Clubs Australia, attended the Skyring Wheelaroos training camp over the weekend to address the team, commenting, “Supporting teams like the Skyring Wheelaroos is reflective of our members’ commitment to rugby league and their local communities.
“We are so proud to align with a team that demonstrates excellence and resilience. Representing your country at the highest level is such an accomplishment and I not only congratulate every member of the team but can’t wait to see what they achieve.”
Wheelchair Rugby League Australia Chair Martin Meredith said, “We thank Leagues Clubs Australia for their support of the Skyring Wheelaroos. The organisation’s support assists with financial costs associated with the team’s campaign but, more importantly, it highlights to the players that their community is behind them and acknowledges their excellence and success.
“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Leagues Clubs Australia into the future.”
Australia’s Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup campaign will kick off Thursday 3 November 2022, when the Skyring Wheelaroos take on England at Copper Box Arena, London.
