About Us
Wheelchair Rugby League Australia Limited (WRLA) is a not-for-profit incorporated body that governs the sport of Wheelchair Rugby League in Australia. It is a registered charity.

WRLA was established in 2009 as an inclusive sport offering all people with and without a disability the opportunity to compete in a variation of Rugby League.

We have an expanding national, and international footprint, and have recently competed at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup in London.

The Role
The Board is seeking applications for several skills-based Directors who can support the organisation’s objectives and strengthen its existing skill set so that it can leverage current growth opportunities that have resulted from the RLWC.

These are voluntary positions with operational responsibilities.

This Opportunity
WRLA is looking for three individuals with the skills and experience to effectively contribute to the strategic leadership, operational and governance responsibilities of the Board.

The range of specific skills sought includes any of the following:

  1. Communications, brand and social media expertise
  2. Disability sports experience
  3. Sports management and operations
  4. Partnership and sponsorship management
  5. Legal expertise
  6. Sound commercial and strategic acumen

In addition, the following is desirable:

  1. Previous Board Director experience
  2. Formal governance training such as AICD

Board Meetings are held monthly via Zoom, so interstate applications are welcome.

 Applications

  1. Applications close at midnight on Wednesday, February 15th.
  2. Applications will only be accepted via email to mmeredith@wrlaustralia.com.au
  3. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interviews to be held between February 21st and 28th.
  4. Final shortlisted applicants will be invited to meet the Board on March 2nd.
  5. Advice will be made to successful applicants by March 9th.
