The Skyring Wheelaroos will depart Australia for their Rugby League World Cup Campaign Monday, 24th October 2022.

On arrival in the United Kingdom, the team will play a series of warm up games against the British Army, Wales and Scotland before taking on England on Thursday, 3 November, for the first RLWC match.

Head coach Brett Clark said, “Given the wait to play international fixtures again, our team can’t wait to get on the plane to London. I know that we will do Australia proud representing wheelchair rugby league on the world stage.”

“We have been talking about our warmup games for the past few weeks, but I can assure you that the focus is on performing well in the pool stage against England, Spain and Ireland. No game in the tournament will be easy. I’m sure every team wants to hold the cup. To say that the team is excited is an understatement.”

Skyring Wheelaroos Captain Brad Grove said, “the guys in our team are fantastic all-rounders, who have gelled perfectly in the lead up to the RLWC.  We can’t wait to showcase what Australia will bring to the competition”.

The eight-team Wheelchair Tournament will be held from Thursday, 3 November, with the final held Friday, 18 November.  Teams playing in the RWLC Wheelchair Rugby League competition include Australia, England, Ireland, Spain, France, Scotland, USA and Wales.

The Skyring Wheelaroos squad will depart from Sydney International Airport 24 October 2022 –12.30 pm.
