Pete Arbuckle is a fan of both NRL and Wheelchair Rugby League. He says, “I was introduced to Rugby League by a cousin and loved it straight away. I played right up until I joined the Army. Then when I lost my leg in 2015 I started adaptive sports and I was made aware of Wheelchair Rugby League in 2016.”

Since his 2017 debut for Souths Graceville, playing Wheelchair RL has kept the athlete born in Cairns busy. Pete now plays for Townsville Central and he will soon be competing at the international level. He still follows Manly-Warringah and admires the Storm’s Cameron Munster.

When he’s having a break, Peter likes fishing and camping. His favourite movie is Forrest Gump. He wouldn’t mind meeting Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He is looking forward to the opportunities of playing in the World Cup and “competing against the two best teams in the world – England and France.”
