Bayley McKenna loves NRL’s Cowboys and playing for Wheelchair Rugby Laegue’s Townsville Brothers. Now a proud representative player for Australia, Bayley says, “I’m looking forward to going over to England with a good bunch of lads, and bringing home the trophy.”

Bayley is a non-disabled Wheelchair RL player who was inspired by his dad to take up the wheelchair-based sport. He recalls, “I joined WRL because it was a sport that me and my dad could play together, and bond over.” He adds, “My dad’s best mates play it also, so it means I’m closer with them too!”

Queensland born ‘Bayls’ debuted with Townsville Brothers in 2019. He has since established a place in the Queensland representative side.

Outside Wheelchair RL he is busy in the outdoors – camping and four-wheel driving – and has been known to play beach volleyball too.

While he admires NRL player Valentine Holmes, and puts meeting billionaire inventor Elon Musk on his wish list. Bayley McKenna is already making things happen. He will achieve a real bucket list item later this year with the Australian squad’s planned trip to the UK to play WRL at World Cup level. “Couldn’t imagine a better team to do it with either,” declares Bayley.
