Kristie Laird brings significant experience in community rugby league, communications, and governance to her role as Director at Wheelchair Rugby League Australia (WRLA). A current Board Director of the NSW Community Rugby League Association, Kristie has been instrumental in promoting and developing rugby league at grassroots and regional levels.

She received the prestigious Gordon Lowrie Community Rugby League Volunteer of the Year Award from NSW Rugby League (NSWRL) in 2020 and was a finalist for the NRL Volunteer of the Year Award. She also participated in the Female Leaders – Get on Board initiative by Sport NSW, the Women in Sports Leadership Program with NSWRL, and the Empowered to Lead scholarship program by Play Like a Girl Australia.
