NEW SOUTH WALES WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE REGARDING CORONAVIRUS
Dear NSW Wheelchair Rugby League community,
Based on expert medical advice, State and Federal Governments have announced a "step change" approach to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and as of Monday 16 March 2020, there will be restrictions regarding gatherings of people and non-essential overseas travel.
Despite the Government recommendation not being actionable until Monday, based on discussion with Wheelchair Rugby League Australia, the NSW Wheelchair Rugby League Committee wishes to take a more proactive approach in protecting the health and wellbeing of the players and the families of our Wheelchair Rugby League community.
As such, competitions in New South Wales will not proceed effective immediately, and this position will be maintained until further notice.
New South Wales Wheelchair Rugby League will convene to discuss advice from experts to manage the rapidly changing environment.
The committee will engage with all stakeholders to ensure all appropriate measures are considered and where appropriate, implemented.
The virus and potential implications are changing constantly, will be monitored and acted upon accordingly, and we will keep you updated as new information comes to hand.
